YFC 0 - 3 Westside U-21

YFC played a rain-soaked friendly match yesterday against a strong U-21 side coached by a friend of the club in Erwin Sui. YFC only fielded 2 recent season regulars in Dan Rankin & Stuart Trann, with the match serving as the penultimate tryout for the newest crop of YFC hopefuls. There were some standout performances by many new players including Darryl, Dave McCormick, Jordan and a great job done by Jason between the pipes.

The goals came from set pieces and one from open play which isn’t too bad considering that it was essentially an entirely new line up.

Also of note was the return to action of Joerg Merz, back in Vancity after a couple year YFC hiatus. Arnie Emmerson and summer player Martin Sosa were also in the starting XI while Minoru Echizenya played for Westside before picking up a cut over his eye and leaving the match.
